The Kyl Center for Water Policy at Morrison Institute welcomes Arizona water leader Susan Craig as a Water Policy Analyst. Having worked for Arizona’s three primary state water agencies and led state water programs for 20 years, Craig has extensive knowledge of the state’s water issues, policies and players. As a Kyl Center Water Policy Analyst, she will drive projects on water resilience and work with top water experts and others to develop a blueprint for meeting the state’s water needs in the next century.

Craig comes to the Kyl Center from the Water Infrastructure Finance Authority of Arizona (WIFA) where she focused on promoting vital water infrastructure investments. Before joining WIFA, she worked at the Arizona Department of Water Resources where she developed and implemented the state’s drought and conservation programs and established messaging campaigns to encourage water stewardship. Earlier in her career, Craig was with the Arizona Department of Environmental Quality where she supervised the watershed management and water quality grant programs. She has led numerous state water-related work groups, including the Clean Colorado River Alliance, Governor’s Drought Task Force Interagency Coordinating Group and Rural Water Infrastructure Committee.

Craig has a BS in Environmental Science and Management from Indiana University’s School of Public and Environmental Affairs in Bloomington.
