Groundwater pumping in unregulated rural areas in Arizona

Although Arizona has what is regarded nationwide as a model plan to wisely use our groundwater, there are parts of the state where those regulations don’t apply, and groundwater pumping is occurring at alarming rates in those areas. Efforts to deal with that in the legislature this year have come up dry. Arizona Horizon host Ted Simons talks more about that with Sarah Porter, director of the Kyl Center for Water Policy at Arizona State University’s Morrison Institute for Public Policy.
