Town Hall looks at Arizona's justice system

A report produced by Arizona State University’s Morrison Institute for the Arizona Town Hall details ways that Arizona’s prison and sentencing system can reduce incarceration rates and costs to taxpayers. The report shows that although crime rates have gone down a third since 2006, incarceration rates have gone up in Arizona, with the state having the fourth-highest incarceration rate in the nation.

Guests on Arizona Horizon included Dan Hunting, a senior policy analyst of Morrison Institute, Maricopa County Attorney Bill Montgomery and Erik Luna, a professor at the ASU College of Law.

Hunting says the report is designed not to come to any conclusions, but to inform the discussion of the Town Hall to be held November 8-10.
