Silvia Urrutia, Founder & CEO, U Developing, LLC

With over 25 years in community development, Ms. Urrutia’s broad experience includes planning, community engagement, development, and financing. Her focus has been on affordable and workforce housing.

She has been active in public transportation, commercial districts, healthcare, and education to create equitable communities. Ms. Urrutia has participated in numerous development activities with public and private entities in Arizona and Massachusetts and has served on zoning and other community boards. She is a full member of the Urban Land Institute and currently serves in the leadership of the Multifamily, Affordable, and Senior Housing Council, and the Terwilliger Center/District Council Housing Exchange. Ms. Urrutia holds a Bachelor’s degree from Arizona State University, a Juris Doctor from the Sandra Day O’Connor School of Law, and has completed courses at Harvard’s Business and Graduate School of Design. She was an Adjunct Professor at the University of Massachusetts Boston – College of Public & Community Service. She is a U.S. Army veteran and is fluent in English and Spanish.
