Republic: How Israel stays ahead of water crises

Friday, October 16, 2015

A two-day water conference hosted by The Arizona Republic and Morrison Institute for Public Policy will feature Israeli water expert Miriam “Miki” Haran who will be joined in conversation by Sharon B. Megdal, director of the University of Arizona Water Resources Research Center and Morrison Institute Distinguished Fellow.

The event will be held Nov. 2 at Arizona State University's Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communication in downtown Phoenix. For more information visit our Events page.

The Republic reports that the parched nation with too little natural water for its people was innovating and conserving for decades before the southwestern U.S. faced the long-term water imbalance it now must overcome.

Haran spoke with The Republic about the technology used, and the problems ahead.
