Republic: Big prize for water awareness program

Monday, March 2, 2015

The Arizona Republic reports five finalists have surfaced in the Water Consciousness Challenge, the first of The New Arizona Prize series aimed at motivating talented people in problem solving for our state.

To help confront this problem (of reverting to a norm of mega-drought), the Arizona Community Foundation, partnering with the Morrison Institute for Public Policy at Arizona State University and The Arizona Republic, will on April 1 award a $100,000 prize to the creative team that produces the best digital strategy to raise Arizonans' awareness of water issues.

The contest has spurred collaboration among people of varied disciplines, all well credentialed and engaged in creating greater attention to Arizona's future.
