“The Price of Stewardship: The Future of Arizona State Parks” analyzes potential revenue options and considers the role and future of Arizona’s 31 State Parks, particularly in light of possible state trust land reform and continuing population growth.

The report culminates in recommendations for the future of the system and should generate discussion about how to preserve and utilize these state assets for the recreational enjoyment of Arizona residents and visitors and their economic benefit.

With information for legislators, advocates, business leaders, mayors, and county supervisors interested in State Parks, the data in this report will inform a “blue ribbon” panel which is expected to be named by the Governor’s Office.

This project is being sponsored by the independent State Parks Foundation and Arizona State Parks.
